The Factory Production Control certificate for our structural steelwork fabrication and our fusion welding quality requirements certificate have been renewed.
Our fabrication is certified for Factory Production Control under EN 1090-1 and EN 1090-2, and our welding processes under EN ISO 3834-2 Quality Requirements for Fusion Welding.
Why does the certificate matter?
Structural steelwork is a product requiring CE marking under the Construction Products Regulation. CE marking rests on EN 1090-1 conformity assessment and the Factory Production Control certificate that goes with it.
Uncertified fabrication causes problems in building permit and acceptance procedures. Certification is therefore not a choice for a fabricator but a legal requirement.
A certificate is a record of the fabrication
Certification is not simply about obtaining a certificate; it is about recording how the fabrication was carried out. Every step is filed, from material certificates to welder qualifications, from welding procedures to coating thickness measurements.
Every fabrication has a traceable file, and that file is given to the customer at handover.
